V for Visual
Students’ Non-fiction Short Film Festival
The yearly festival selection includes non-fiction shorts produced by media, journalism and arts students from several universities in Romania. Already at its fourth edition, V for Visual includes a one-day public screening of selected non-fictional visual productions in one of Cluj-Napoca’s cinema theatres. Videos submitted in the past editions can be watched on the official YouTube channel.

Media and Society
“Media and Society: Models, Representations and Current Phenomena” Students’ Conference
The Student Conference organized by the Journalism Department at the College of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences will be celebrating its 13th edition in 2019. As in the previous years, this unique multilingual event will bring together Bachelor and Master’s students in English, Romanian, Hungarian and German language panels to present their research projects, receive feedback and discuss opportunities for further research.

On a rapidly changing global digital market, traditional genres are evolving and new content formats are emerging every year. The Content++ Digital Media Competition challenges students in media, arts, journalism, communication or even computer science and engineering to come up with ground-breaking, innovative and deeply engaging digital media contents. Project submissions are encouraged in (but not limited to) the following areas:
- Oline Multimedia Long-form
- Information Visualisation and Data Journalism
- Interactive Storytelling
- Social Media Integrated Storytelling
- Integrated Journalism and Online Radio Journalism
- Innovative Online Content Publishing

AUDIO STORYTELLING AWARDS
We are living in a golden age of audio storytelling. The production of audio content has been developing and fascinating the listeners for already a century – from radio news reporting to creative narrative podcasts defined by scholars as a cultural practice of producing and consuming digital sound content. Students are invited to present their audio / radio production – news reporting, features, podcasts and other innovative digital audio productions that are to be judged by professionals and faculty staff. The awarding ceremony will also host a debate on digital radio industry.

Journalism and Digital Media Conference
The Journalism and Digital Media International Conference will host a series of invited lectures and workshops addressing new, emerging trends and best practices in digital media education, research and production.
Proposals for 10 minutes presentations should be submitted as abstracts via e-mail to email@example.com.

FOCUS National Student Photojournalism Exhibition
The National Student Photojournalism Exhibition is a project that aims to involve Romanian students in a dialogue about the mai professional practices in the field of photojournalism.
Interested students should submit thei photos (created as course-work or as extra-curricular activities prior to May 2019).
Entries should be submitted in one of the following sections: NEWS PHOTO, STREET PHOTOGRAPHY, PHOTO STORY, PHOTO PORTRAIT, NATURE and TRAVEL
Images should be sized to crop 20×30 cm, resolution 300 DPI and minimum 3000×2000 pixels, and may be taken with a photo camera or mobile device. Submissions should include the student’s contact information (nume, prenume, University/College, e-mai and phone number) și photo captions.
